BUILDING A BUDGET-MINDED HONDA CRF250R

For this build we kept it very simple with minimal engine mods. The engine on the CRF250R can use some major help and on a 250F that is $$ with big internal engine mods that can reduce engine durability. Jay likes the stock/durable easy to ride “slower” CRF and so he figured just adding mapping from Twisted Development will give him a bit more to have fun with. The motor runs cleaner with more power. We also added a Torque Drive Rekluse clutch to help clutch durability and performance. Works Chassis Lab Engine hangers for improved feel with suspension mods from AHM. Twisted Development

WE PUT THE FASTEST SX350 EVER AGAINST A KTM SX450

This KTM 350SXF matches our 2024 KTM 450SXF on the dyno for horsepower! But which one is better on the track? Twisted Development built the ultimate KTM 350SXF, boosting it from 54 to 60 horsepower. Of course, the 350SXF and 450SXF have two completely different power characters. This "tastefully modded" 450SXF has 37 foot-pounds of torque, while the full-mod 350SXF has a peak torque of only 31 ft. lbs. This creates a unique feel on the track, making the 350 much easier to ride. In this video, we talk to Twisted Development's Jamie Ellis, and we compare lap times between the two bikes with pros, our vet rider Dennis Stapleton, and our novice tester Josh Holley.

THE MEANEST SOUNDING YAMAHA YZ250F!

Jay Clark put together this mean sounding 2024 Yamaha YZ250f. Jay built what he believed to be an ideal but reasonable yz250f. Usable power with a little more breathing out of this already great platform. Check out the video for more details!

WE BUILT THE ULTIMATE KTM 350 SX-F!

The KTM 350 SX-F's latest generations (2023 and 2024) have made significant improvements in power and handling, making it competitive against larger bikes in the 2023 450 shootout. To enhance its performance further, the bike was sent to Twisted Development, where Jamie Ellis upgraded the engine with modifications such as porting the cylinder head, raising compression, and adding a Newen CNC valve job, along with 10 TD maps via Vortex Ignitions. Additionally, Enzo Racing provided a suspension upgrade with a KYB spring conversion kit and modifications to the WP shock, ensuring superior handling and performance.

2024 YZ450F WITH CLUBMX YAMAHA PRO MOTOCROSS SPEC

Twisted Development has a lot of race engines in the pro paddock, that is no secret. However, it's not often that you get a chance to test a full-blown race spec engine setup before the AMA Pro Motocross Championship starts, but that is exactly what we got to do this week out at Glen Helen Raceway with Jamie Ellis. The Yamaha YZ450F is already a potent machine in stock form but building a full race spec engine for the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX riders means that Twisted has to find power for them to get off the line of a deeply tilled start as well as try to keep the bike manageable for a 30-plus-two moto. TOUGH TO DO! I am not a fan of built 450 engines, but with the help of some special parts that Twisted is able to acquire, this Yamaha race engine was surprisingly one of the easier 450 race bikes that I have ridden. Check out my whole breakdown of the machine and what it was like to ride! Not often do you get some behind-the-scenes POV before the racing even starts, so this test was a moto nerd’s dream.
